A new ecosystem for the digital economy in the German region "Ostwestfalen-Lippe" – this is the objective that the Innovation Campus Lemgo plans to achieve. The aspiring region "Ostwestfalen-Lippe" (OWL), where technology plays a key role, wants to gain a reputation on the national and international levels in the fields of cutting-edge technology.
The Innovation Campus Lemgo links existing players with new ones through the entire innovation chain: education, research and economy.
In this way, in Lemgo a unique constellation is created, where the vocational college, university, technology centres (SmartFactory OWL) and a Science2Business park (CIIT) work closely together. The "Lipperlandhalle"located on the campus is a multifunctional event location that is made available to all.
About the project
Initial thoughts about the Innovation Campus Lemgo started in 2004. Besides a significant increase in attractiveness of the whole district, acceleration of the transfer of technology, strengthening of international visibility, an increase of innovation capability and competitiveness of the regional economy habe been pursued.
Therefore, existing areas will be enhanced, new places with high quality of stay are created, and additional research facilities and companies are established.
Based on a master plan, both the content-related potential for synergies is opened up, as are required measures in the infrastructure for establishing an attractive district. In 10 years, the current district will change beyond all recognition.
On behalf of the governmental institution for business development "Wirtschaftsförderung Kreis Lippe", agiplan has conducted a survey that determined the feasibility of the project. Within a workshop on the mission statement, different options for the development were identified. One of those options is now being pursued.
In April the project was introduced to the public. agiplan has supported the brand development, organised the public launch and created the communications strategy for the whole project. The outcome of a competition initialised by us has been the name, logo, a video trailer and a micro site for the project (executing agency: "Büro des Präsedenten" from Berlin, Germany).
