The medium-sized electrical wholesaler Emil Löffelhardt GmbH & Co. KG establishes a new central logistics centre in Schorndorf and relocates its headquarters there. The family-owned company is growing continuously and there are no opportunities for expansion at the existing location in Fellbach.
As the responsible planner, agiplan prepared the concept and detailed planning for Löffelhardt, carried out the invitations to tender and awarded contracts and is now accompanying the implementation.
Highly automated storage technology
The new logistics centre will have highly automated warehouse technology from the logistics system provider viastore SYSTEMS GmbH. An eight-aisle automatic high-bay warehouse in silo design is to offer space for 17,520 pallets. This is where large and voluminous items such as switch cabinets are stored.
In addition, it serves as a supply warehouse for the five-aisle container warehouse with 91,520 storage spaces for small fast-moving items, including control components and electronic products. 220 shuttles, these will be automatically stored, moved and retrieved.
In addition, long goods products such as cable ducts or luminaires are stored in an automatic, single-aisle tray storage system.
Start of operations in 2018
The project is on schedule, with handover to the operator planned for mid-2018.
